Hollowood Bedroom
Starched theatre curtains, painted aluminum - 90½x59x118"
Installation at Raid Projects, Los Angeles
The Hollowood Bedroom is part of the Geoethics Building, a “meta-architectural”, ongoing project consisting in several rooms scattered around the world. This “room” consists in a double black curtain, which cuts out a "reserved" space between reality and fiction, or between wake and slumber.
It’s both a curtain and a bellows, which only air is allowed to enter into, because the air (the breath) is the only thing that a sleeping body exchanges with the outside world, differentiating it from a dead body.
